Meet the Nurse Practitioners at Prime Urgent Care
When you walk into Prime Urgent Care in Encino, you are seen by board-certified nurse practitioners with decades of hands-on clinical experience. Our providers treat illnesses and injuries, perform physical exams and in-office procedures, and take the time to make sure every patient understands their care. Walk-ins are welcome 7 days a week, 12 PM to 12 AM, and no appointment is needed.
Maria Behrooj, NP-C, MSN, RN-C, PHN
Nurse Practitioner, Urgent Care
Maria Behrooj, NP-C, MSN, RN-C, PHN, is a highly experienced and compassionate nurse practitioner with more than 27 years in healthcare. Her clinical background spans urgent care, primary care, women’s health and OB-GYN, geriatrics, and acute care. She spent roughly 20 years of her career with Kaiser Permanente, including several years practicing as a nurse practitioner in urgent care.
Maria evaluates and treats a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, endocrine disorders, sexually transmitted infections, and musculoskeletal injuries. She is also skilled in office-based procedures such as laceration repair, incision and drainage, digital nerve blocks, ingrown toenail removal, and Pap smears.
Known for her warm, patient-centered approach, Maria combines extensive clinical experience with strong diagnostic judgment and a commitment to making patients feel heard, respected, and confident in their care.
Education
Master of Science in Nursing, Azusa Pacific University. Bachelor of Science in Nursing, California State University, Northridge.
Certifications
AANP Board Certified Nurse Practitioner. Additional certifications in urgent care procedures, ACLS, BLS, women’s health, and long-acting reversible contraception.

Amaryllis Malekniazi, MSN, FNP-C
Family Nurse Practitioner, Urgent Care
Amaryllis Malekniazi, MSN, FNP-C, is a certified family nurse practitioner and California registered nurse with more than 20 years of diverse clinical experience. Her background includes urgent care, medical-surgical nursing, perioperative and postoperative care, patient assessment, wound management, intravenous therapy, medication administration, and individualized care planning.
Throughout her career, Amaryllis has worked closely with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to patients of all ages and medical needs.
Amaryllis is recognized for her clinical expertise, professionalism, strong communication skills, and compassionate approach to patient care. She is committed to making sure every patient receives personalized attention in a respectful and welcoming environment.

Master of Science in Nursing, Charles R. Drew University.

Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C). California Registered Nurse. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
